After eclipsing 2 billion streams and landing a 2021 BRIT Award nomination, Kosovan DJ and producer Regard unveils a brand new single entitled “You” [feat. Troye Sivan & Tate McRae] today. Get it HERE via Epic Records.
The track infuses nostalgic eighties synths with a buoyant beat, hinging on an undeniable bounce. Regard’s production shines alongside this blockbuster duet between two of pop’s hottest stars—Troye Sivan and Tate McRae. They lock into a heavenly and hypnotic back and forth, gliding over the hummable production with undeniable chemistry. It culminates on a lovestruck confession, “When I try to fall back, I fall back to you. When I talk to my friends, I talk about you. When the Hennessy’s strong, all I see is you.”
About “You,” Regard states, “’I’m so excited that ‘You’ is finally being released! The entire song gives me wavy emotions with the angelic vocals from Tate and Troye.”
Tate adds “Collaborating with Troye and Regard was an amazing experience. It’s a totally different vibe than any of my usual songs, but still has the emotional and lyrical depth that I always try to write”.
We tend to only showcase the most beautiful aspects of our relationships in public as we don’t want others to see what goes on behind closed doors.
My new track, “Jekyll Hyde Love,” was written to open those doors and give us all the freedom to admit that things don’t have to perfect to be fucking great.
We fight like Tyson, but we play so nice
Often from the outside, this polarity can be seen as dysfunction, but it can also be seen as a volley: sometimes I love you badly and sometimes I love you good, but the love is always there.
Take a listen to “Jekyll Hyde Love” on your preferred streaming platform now!
Thank you for your time,
Theo Tams

One of the best places I like to listen to music is while driving. It’s just you, the road, and the music. My latest single is ideal to put on when you’re getting ready, whether you’re on the way to your day job or going out. “The Judge“ is my first funk influenced pop song. It exists to uplift you and get you energized for whatever you are going to be doing. |
I collaborated on this track with Liel Bar-Z, who provided vocals and wrote the song’s lyrics. I usually produce songs starting with the instrumental but in this case it was up to me to create a track to match the vocals and show my capabilities as a producer. The bass line is the driving force behind “The Judge,” contributing rhythmically via a call and response with the vocals. Including saxophone and trumpet solos harkens back to my days performing in middle and high school jazz bands. Once I had added those elements, the song felt truly complete. I hope that you connect with the lyrics’ message, which is that the past is the past. Let’s not worry about what has happened and instead enjoy the present, as well as what the future has to offer! FVZ |
This first collaboration between Emma June & Olivia Khoury is an alternative folk song that features rich harmony and guitars. The duo’s vocals blend smoothly, creating a delicate mood filled with pedal-steel and synths. Safely explores feelings of solitude since the start of the pandemic while also describing a silver lining.
Listen to this single cowritten by two Montreal female artists,
– now featured on Spotify’s editorial playlist Folk & Friends, amongst folk stars like Fleet Foxes! –
James Parm is a Montreal based indie/alternative artist specializing in elaborate soundscapes and introspective, contemplative lyrics. His music mixes the familiar with something entirely not, blending a wide range of styles into something new yet relatable. James’ most recent work “The Art of Waiting” explores our relationship to time, the past, the future, our regrets and aspirations, and our resistance to what is, all while supplying a musical exploration that takes you from the close and intimate to the far and obscure parts of himself.
You already know Flo Gallop. You’ve already heard her voice, it’s a pitch-perfect, beautiful, arm-around-the-shoulders version of the one in your head. Flo is the voice we all need, She’s the beat behind our breakdowns and the word-perfect poetry of our bounce-back pick-ups. South-east London born and bred, Flo was raised around music, her dad made songwriting feel like breathing. Without it she would choke. So, she sat, scribbling words, diarising an everyday life through the musicality and soul of a natural artist that would eventually emerge, fully formed, as a friend in your ears.
Flo doesn’t want to change the world, just get your attention. She lives to perform, yet she feels, writes and lives like an antidote to this world of filtered fakery and ‘pick me!’ poses. Honesty is the only policy here, even when it hurts.
The fun and flirtatious “Can’t Be Friends” narrates falling for the wrong person and happily overlooking the consequences. The infectious song sparkles with colourful melodies, a move-inducing beat and Gallop’s distinct vocal delivery. The songwriter shares, “This song came from another deluded boy crush and was based around the nerves of seeing someone when you know you shouldn’t and that they’re not good for you, but also knowing you really want to, attempting to make someone jealous and just generally being up to no good.”
All of Flo’s music is food for the heart and words for the wise. This is a writer of depth, already a collaborator with established giants Tom Fuller and Will Thomson but, rather than stand on their shoulders, she has hands on the wheel.
Being a young woman in your 20s isn’t always easy today, but Flo only sees ‘good and great’ in her life and her work, and you will too. So, if you’re looking for Bad then head for Neverland, but if you want songs to fly, cry and die for then don’t just run with the herd- go with the Flo.
musician Taylor Rogers and filmmaker Lillian Walker share their collaborative video ‘short’, “N.A.” in anticipation of the release of their long-form music film, NOA (out May 7). “N.A.” (an initialism of “Not Anymore”) builds on Taylor’s song which reflects on reclaiming one’s voice after a long period of suffering.
In many ways the “N.A.” video short embodies the spirit of NOA’s collaborative nature. The process of creating a visual offering gave an opportunity to filter the initial message through multiple new lenses. As Lillian explains “we wanted to show the way art can communicate by having the performers interpret the themes of each song through their own experiences. Those contributions are then interpreted through the filmmaking; each successive layer brings new qualities to the core message which enriches our understanding of what is being said.”
The protagonist of this video is Chicago-based performance artist Alana Parekh. Her dance interpretation of “N.A.” takes the viewer through a journey from repression to a bold embracing and following of her emotions. The spirit is heightened by the striking filming
locations of the abandoned 120-year-old St. Boniface church on Chicago’s west side and the stunning lakeside landscape of Illinois Beach State Park.

rising electronic producer DEFSET returns with ‘Shira2’, the second cut taken from upcoming album ‘Proximity’, due for release via EMK – the new electronic music platform launched by Kartel Music Group. Stream ‘Shira2’ here. Watch the video for ‘Shira2’ here
Named after a camp on Mt. Kilimanjaro – the track features field recordings captured by DEFSET during his trip. It is another fine example of DEFSET’s analog and modular approach to electronic music – resulting in lush, energetic and enigmatic textural sounds.
Talking about the track, DEFSET says; “the inspiration for this track comes from a trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro. It’s a unique place, Shira2 is a camp on Kili with the most beautiful views and skies. There are some field recordings I made at the camp on the track. It’s positive, energetic and enigmatic which relates to the feelings I had when I was there.”
Although new to the electronic music scene, DEFSET demonstrates mastery in using modular synthesizers and outboard gear to create a pallet of evolving melodies over syncopated, glitched out rhythms, delivering a deeply accomplished sonic blend of immersive techno and atmospheric electronic music.

Drawing comparisons to Björk, Sinead O’Connor and Sylvan Esso, Shrines is the moniker of Brooklyn-based singer and musician, Carrie Erving (Ponyhof, Will Butler of Arcade Fire). Our Ship is Ready, her new visual EP, is due out on April 16. Today she releases the project’s clip for “Our Ship is Ready.” Our Ship is Ready is a collection of her modern re-imaginings of traditional folk ballads, which she learned while living in Ireland, from traditional singers including Iarla Ó Lionaird and Karan Casey.
Of “Our Ship is Ready,” Shrines shares: “This is the title track of the EP, and recounts the beginning of a voyage into the unknown. A traditional Irish emigration song, it encompasses both the longing for home and the intrinsic hope in looking out towards the future.”
Of Our Ship is Ready (the EP), Shrines shares: “My time in Ireland collecting songs from the Sean-nós (the Irish language term for “old style”) tradition has had such a deep impact on the way that I sing and write music. Our Ship Is Ready is a project that I hope to continue in the future, with more collaborators and volumes of collected traditional songs. I offer this first volume as a snapshot of a creative process during the pandemic, in which I reached back to the source of some of my deepest inspiration as an artist, and recorded and performed these songs while living in isolation in nature. These are some of my favorite songs that have stuck with me for many years and I am excited to have the opportunity to arrange them in my own way and share them.
My husband (the videos’ director, Brody Bernheisel) and I have been quarantining on an island in Maine. We’ve filmed music videos that seek to capture these traditional songs’ reverence of the natural world. Creatively, there is a direct connection for me between the natural settings we chose for the film locations and the wild nature that is present in so many of these ancient songs. I also imagine a connecting thread to the original settings in which they were perhaps written: within solitude and as an ode to nature. From my side of the Atlantic, I’m engaging in a conversation with these ancient themes and stories and bringing my own creative interpretations to them. Arranged with strings, piano, and synths, these songs also pay homage to the inspiration of my favorite folk records from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Alongside a recurring theme of a reverence for the land, the songs share the thread of the same theme of beginning a journey, looking out into the unknown with trepidation or excitement. For me this project is also a snapshot of a creative process during the pandemic — recording vocals at my home studio in Maine with vocal producer/mixer Rosana Cabán (Psychic Twin) and engaging in an extended long-distance correspondence of recording, arranging and mixing with my longtime collaborator, cellist and co-producer Chris Loxley.
LA based electronic duo OYLS are releasing the music video for their song “Netflix (Your Product Is Too Good)” directed by Nicole Lipp. Both the third single off their most recent album OYLS (For Your Consideration), as well as the third episode in a series of seamless videos dubbed as a visual ‘Pop Opera,’ the video stars legendary actor and Los Angeles local Danny Trejo (Machete, Spy Kids) in a very humanizing role: a lost soul binging Netflix late at night in a motel – with snacks, naturally.
With the hopes to destigmatize mental illness, the band shares, “The song is really about how we cope with our negative feelings, whether they stem from the stress of our daily lives, mental illness, or uncertainty about the world.” OYLS explains, “To have someone of Danny’s stature willing to portray a vulnerable character struggling with his own mind is invaluable to normalizing our conversations about mental health. It really is a huge honor to have him involved.”
“Netflix (Your Product Is Too Good)” takes a minimalistic stance sonically, crafted with an array of electronic warmth. With pulsing, throbbing synths, punctual pronunciation, rich in character and snappy tones softened by the echoing flares, the catchy hook and lyrics are dusted in a lighthearted gleam while holding a colder, more relatable theme. The song has moments of robotic, electro style harmonies adding a haunting effect and samples that add a witty sound but a harsh message, replicating that inner voice we all know.
Reflecting the addiction to the easily supplied, numb living of the modern world, the video shows Danny Trejo unknowingly glued to his screen with an endless supply of munchies, binging his life away. OYLS share, “We explore some of the conflicted relationships we have with pervasive technology and late-stage capitalism. Unlimited content at our fingertips is both a remarkable tool and a powerfully addictive escape.”
Prior to the release of OYLS (For Your Consideration), the duo sold space on their album cover for anyone to purchase, with proceeds going to MusiCares, a non-profit that assists musicians struggling with mental illness. Proceeds from this music video will also go to MusiCares and they have made it possible to donate directly to the cause through their Spotify page.
“We hope to impact the discourse surrounding mental illness. It’s such a stigmatized topic but so many sufler on a daily basis that it really shouldn’t be. Hopefully we can help make that change.”
“Netflix (Your Product Is Too Good)” will be followed by five more episodes slated for later this year, released via Handwritten Records.
Life is a dance of shadows and light. MEARA, with stories of passion and power, healing and womanhood, creates the soundtrack. Blessed with synaesthesia, the British/ American songstress was born, literally into a world where music is colour. Her work dances delicately between cinematic, ethereal and indie music. Life’s unfolding stories are told here with a voice that will put a shine on your soul and guide you through the darkness. The tones are pure, the sensation one of stealing a glimpse into heaven.
MEARA has created a sophisticated tale of independence, told as a mother, a storyteller and a friend to our vulnerabilities. Flying from the ashes, the smoke still warm on her wings, MEARA has a voice like no other. She sings with the purpose of an addict and the touch of a maestro. Cinematic and vast like the call of a bird, suddenly free from its cage, her music will lift you away while her writing, her vision and her stories will keep you afloat in a space of light and empathy where your own voice can now be heard.
“Blackbird”, the first in a string of singles culminating in an album, speaks of awakening, reconnection and embracing the dark like a long-lost friend. The artist confides “I’ve always sung other people’s music yet dreamed of writing my own. I wanted to step out of that box. I want to inspire people to discover their own story and pursue their dreams. Our journeys are never a straight line.” The stunning music video was filmed at the historic Holloway Sanitorium (a former sanitorium which was also used as a location for Inspector Morse). It’s a symbolic location for the song as it represents the artist’s subconscious mind, in which she wakes up and finds “Blackbird” there.
While the seeds of Florence and the Machine, Aurora and Lana Del Rey, and many other musical icons are evident in their influence, the flowers that have bloomed are all MEARA. MEARA’s vocal range will send shivers down your spine, while bold, thumping drum and soaring string arrangements awaken a feeling deep inside yourself. Both soft and threatening, warm and cold, earthy and digital MEARA brings her influences of baroque pop and folk into the present and gives an edgy, futuristic twist, taking the listener on a journey.
MEARA’s creativity will shock you in its finesse and take your hand with a powerful grip wrapped in a silk glove. This is a music of love, redemption and dreams of light and life. Written with the collaboration of world-beating talents Norma Jean Martine (known for viral hits “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes” and “When We Were Young” and Max Mostley (Jones, Norma Jean Martine, Tomine Harket). MEARA has previously performed on Broadway as well as on NBC’s Today Show and at Madison Square Garden. She sings in 7 languages. Unveiling the first chapter to this compelling story, “Blackbird” is set currently available worldwide.
As he readies the release of his eagerly awaited debut project, Dominique p.k.a Mitch Mula unleashes the official music video to “The Player Way” via Win 1st Records. Available to watch here, “The Player Way” served as one of the string of singles the Florida-born Guyanese American has made his mark with in just a few short months. The cinematic, raw, and expressive visual gives audiences a view into the emerging artist’s world as he effortlessly delivers bodacious bars over a bass-knocking, smooth-sailed production (self-produced).
Today’s release is herald by last week’s premiere of “The Code,” which is backed on Spotify’s MOST NECESSARY, HIP HOP CONTROLLER and more. Best known for his multi-platinum contributions, in the lane of producing and songwriting, for Lil Tjay and Luh Kel to Chinese Kitty and Yo Gotti, Dominique made history last month as a music producer to enter the NFT space. Lil Bitcoin, an avatar powered by cryptocurrency, debuted his single “I Love Bitcoin” via With Foundation for an auction and received notoriety in the world of the cryptocurrency phenomenon. Seeing great reception for the innovation and uniqueness in many worlds altogether, Dominique is creating an inspiring lane for himself as an artist, songwriter, and producer as he sets his eye to claim all that we want “The Player Way.”

Born in Manchester, England, Tommy Newport relocated to the United States with his family at six years old where he bounced around from Dallas to Seattle before settling down in Wichita, Kansas. After picking up the guitar as a teenager to ease the boredom that comes with the idyllic, but monotonous life in the Midwest, Newport submerged himself into music and hasn’t looked back since.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed EP Ultra Mango, Newport is teaming up with freshly Grammy nominated hip-hop duo EarthGang (Dreamville/Interscope) on their new single “Stargazer.” Combining the best of both worlds, EarthGang and Newport’s “Stargazer” is a vibrant and infectious track, dripping with charisma and allure. With a throbbing bass line, quirky vocal harmonies and a bouncy beat, the track showcases Newport’s laidback, effortless vocals and EarthGang’s poignant wordplay. It’s fun, funky and undeniably catchy and it will be your 2021 anthem.
Newport explains, “Stargazer was written in LA & I’m honored to have my first released collaboration be with the insanely talented EARTHGANG. Once I laid down the hook I knew it felt right. There’s not a dull moment in this song and they absolutely killed it.” Producer 4th Pyramid adds, “Working with Tommy is always such a vibe. Being able to finally tie in his sound to my hip-hop roots was something I’ve wanted to do. EARTHGANG brings a kaleidoscope of creativity and were the perfect pairing to complement our sound. It was a no brainer to get them on this record.”
At only 18 years old, Tommy released his debut single, “I Forgive You”, which rapidly amassed millions of streams. His astounding live performance of “Movie Screen” on the internationally renowned YouTube series COLORS has led to millions of more streams and the likes of Hypebeast, High Snobiety, Beats 1 and Flaunt Magazine all touting Newport as the next big thing. He has been featured in a variety of television shows, including HBO’s hit TV show Ballers, Netflix’s original series What/If, TBS’ popular TV show Search Party, Amy Schumer’s documentary Expecting Amy, as well as the hit TV show The Sinner. He has also scored the latest ad campaign for Apple’s iPad. Atlanta natives EARTHGANG are no strangers to success with recent appearances on J. Cole’s platinum selling Billboard #1 compilation album “Revenge of The Dreamers III”. “Stargazer” is currently available worldwide.
VINOK is not just another indie-rock band, it’s a statement of authenticity and social change to create a new culture of justice in a land of unknown. Giving a voice for the marginalized and bluntly bringing to attention crucial problems of a global society is what the band is all about. Their topics range from disability rights to feminism, politics and religion. Vinok’s sound is an unusual mix of experimental rock and indie art-pop spiced with notes of garage punk, pulp grunge and even hip-hop.
The hints of a Wild West atmosphere are to symbolize everything the band stands for – an attempt to build freedom and hope in a harsh opportunistic world by challenging the establishment. VINOK provides fresh, powerful and insightful music with deep syncopated rhythms, haunting lyrics, soaring powerful vocals and a molotov cocktail in the face of evil.
Co-founder, lead vocalist and keyboardist Nathalie has practiced as a mental health professional and expressive arts therapist working extensively with people who witnessed a wide array of abuse and neglect. As a journalist, VINOK’s co-founder and drummer Ilya has witnessed the atrocities executed by authoritarian and corrupt regimes in Eastern Europe and the sheer poverty that resulted from them. The band’s virtuoso bassist Anton comes from war-torn eastern Ukraine and says, “Music is my salvation”.
“river” is the namesake of a masterpiece written by American novelist Flannery O’Connor. Much of the symbolism within the song is in reference to her renowned story “River”. This song is about redemption and all of the pain that comes with it before one is truly set free. “We have been inspired by much of Flannery O’Connor’s bold, truthful, gothic and often violent writing style,” said Nathalie, the lead vocalist of the band. “For example, our previous EP Wise Blood (hence the name being based on one of O’Connor’s novels) used a lot of similar symbolism”.
“For some, river can be seen as a tragedy but for us it is definitely a story of redemption,” said the band’s drummer Ilya.
I’m gonna sing my way down to the river, I’m gonna pray that everything will be okay. “These lyrics are meant as prayer and plea for peace, especially in a time of so many unknowns,” shares Nathalie. VINOK’s music was mixed by sound producer and engineer Paul ‘PDub’ Walton who worked with legends such as Bjork, U2, No Doubt, Madonna, Massive Attack, Birdy, and The Cure. The album was mastered by Rudy Martinez, who is a voting member of the Grammys as well as an active member of the Audio Engineering Society.
VINOK looks to 2021 with positive energy as it’s set to be a huge year for the band. With their sights set on the stratosphere, their first full-length album is due April 2021.
With over 300 songs written and recorded, album of the year credits, and multiple continent-spanning tours, Eamon McGrath has developed a body of work that could rival that of any artist 15 years his senior. This is the house that punk rock built: a fierce DIY attitude and constantly-changing style has guided McGrath across the globe on countless tours, stories from which have been cultivated in innumerable journal entries and song lyrics. He is based in Toronto, Ontario.
Over 100,000 kilometres of highway, railroad and sky behind him, as McGrath continues to blaze an impassioned trail of music that finds a sound and voice somewhere between punk rock, country, folk and rock and roll. Taking him to locations as geographically diverse as Reykjavik, Palma de Majorca, Warsaw, and everywhere in between, McGrath and his guitar represent a new dawn of singer-songwriting that’s injected with the raw, fierce energy of punk rock: not in the sense of an acoustic performer hollering at the top of his lungs to simulate the energy of a full band, but instead something more rooted in a passionate commitment to your craft and a blind and zealous determination to your vision, wrapped in a sonic texture as rough as the road itself.
In the darkest nights, stars shine the brightest; The Foreign Films create stargazing melodies to illuminate the heart.
Bill Majoros is a Canadian singer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist who releases music under the name of The Foreign Films.
Majoros has played hundreds of shows spanning North America and the UK, from infamous clubs such as CBGB’s in NYC and The Legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool (of Beatles fame), to packed stadium shows and festivals supporting many well-known artists.
A native of Hamilton Ontario, Majoros has been nominated for and received several prestigious Canadian music awards.
Under the name The Foreign Films, he has released four critically acclaimed studio albums and an EP, including an elaborate triple vinyl box set The Record Collector.
The most recent release, Ocean Moon, topped indie charts on over 60 stations internationally, and earned a spot on “The Best of the Year” on Little Steven’s Underground Garage, Sirius XM (Bill Kelly show).
Blogs and magazines were also very kind, with both The Record Collector 3LP set and the Ocean Moon LP having been honoured with top spots and raving reviews.
Bill Majoros, aka The Foreign Films, continues his musical journey with the upcoming release of Starlight Serenade, a follow-up LP that blends classic and creative elements to reimagine the sonic future; musical retro-futurism. The album aims for even greater heights, creating dazzling songs that sparkle in a galaxy of sound.
Moodshift has revealed their second original single of 2021, with ‘Heartless’. Following the success of recent single ‘Touch’, ‘Heartless’ once again highlights Moodshift’s effortless ability to blend pop-friendly vocals with deeper house sounds. Although Lucas Nord, Oliver Nelson, and flyckt’s project is less than a year old, Moodshift’s latest shows their mastery over their individual sound, and boundless potential. Having already worked with the likes of Dillon Francis, ItaloBrothers, Kiesza, Bow Anderson, MistaJam, Tobtok and more on various remixes, the trio has made their impact known in such a short period of time. ‘Heartless’ is now available for streaming across all platforms.
‘Heartless’ opens on a subdued melody, easing the track to a calm beginning. As added percussion and atmospheric synths enter the mix, ‘Heartless’ begins to fit the mold of a radio-ready pop track, complete with an ultra catchy vocal hook. Suddenly, a bombastic bass hit announces a sharp tone change, immediately capturing attention and shifting ‘Heartless’ towards club and house territory. Moodshift has defined their sound through these surprising dance influences, consistently riding the line between underground house and pop. ‘Heartless’ is another strong single for assuredly one of the hottest crossover acts in contemporary dance music.
Magic Bronson continues to spearhead music trends, tackling social issues and the anxiety of what’s going on in the world, coupling it with sensational and experimental melodies. Self-described as “profoundly uneasy,” Magic Bronson takes unnerving and anxious energy and channels it into songs that ultimately lift you from a place of uneasiness. Bandmates, Michael Nicastro (vocals, synths, drum programming, production) and Matthew Lieberman (lyrics, bass, synths), are a powerful blend of musicians that know how to create the music that fans can’t get enough of. No one can accuse the multi-talented duo of colouring within the lines when it comes to making music. They write without boundaries, with lyrics sprung from whatever miscarriage of justice they perceive in the world.
Their latest single “My Baby is an Android ” emits playful tones and exuberance through its tongue-in-cheek matter. The song is buoyant and memorable featuring a collection of vintage synths, robotic electro elements and characterful drum patterns, all doused in an abundance of woozy grooves. It’s mellow melodies and doo-wop quality complements the nonsensical narrative which touches on falling in love with a robot and how as a society we have become too dependent on technology and Artificial Intelligence, such as Siri and Alexa. Lieberman confides, “We spend more time with our phones and those AI voices than we do with our significant others or family.”
It’s the band’s live performances that put the magic in Magic Bronson. Oozing personality, Nicastro and Lieberman feed off the energy of the crowd, whipping them up into a frothy frenzy. With their commanding stage presence, three EP’s, a full-length album, write-ups in publications like Billboard, Earmilk and KCRW, as well as dozens of placements on both the large and small screen, Magic Bronson has amassed a legion of diehard fans that gobble up their music and turn out for their shows en masse. Their track “Nervous” sprang to life after Kendall and Kylie Jenner used it to soundtrack an Instagram ad for their fashion line. It was played on rotation in New York City taxi cabs during Fashion Week and currently has over six million streams on Spotify alone.
Following his critically acclaimed recent album “The Aaron LP” featuring the breakthrough hit “Healing’ with US superstar Jessie Reyez – British Columbia alt. pop/rap artist and songwriter SonReal (aka Aaron Hoffman) returns with his first new material of the year with “Bank On Me”
Paired with a typically hilarious, cult visual, “Bank On Me” sees SonReal back on peak form, blending his trademark lyrical frankness over a polished, staccato instrumental. The first release from his upcoming new project, “Bank On Me,” explores the world 2020 has left us all to navigate, with SonReal taking us on a personal journey of finding the resilience and belief to count on himself first. It’s an uplifting ode to the character and dedication of the everyday man, woman and child that seems right on time. Speaking on the track, Son states: “I’ve been through so many ups and down since I started making music but one thing I’ve always done is bank on myself. This song is made to empower people and lift them up. It’s such a crazy time in the world right now and I wanted to make a song for you to feel good to. Bank On Me.”
Building a diehard fanbase and over 165M streams globally alongside support from the likes of COMPLEX, NOISEY and ACCLAIM, SonReal’s blend of art, talent and emotional connect look set to continue his trajectory as one of the scene’s best-loved stars.

I’m now in my late 20s, but I think I’ll feel 20 years old in my head for the rest of my life. This song addresses how things move FAST. I think everyone has days where we grapple with where we’re “supposed” to be versus where we’re actually at. This song makes me want to drive through the Rocky Mountains with the windows down. Being from the West Coast, driving through peaks is what puts me at ease, because when you’re driving you aren’t really doing anything else, yet it still feels productive ’cause you’re getting somewhere.

Tim Rose and producer D Did That (Darien Newton) and have been on a Lofi Hip Hop road trip— making beats in Tim’s van recording studio “Vanna White.” The final destination is unknown — pit stops along the way include Paisley Park, Dilla’s Basement, the Hard Hitting Drum Factory, John Mayer’s ranch in Wyoming, and possibly some pit stops for pizza from Delicious Vinyl. Good beats for the road — wherever it may lead.
“For the Most Part” begins with a phone call from a struggling friend trying to resist relapsing on his addiction. He is feeling alright “For the Most Part”, which sets the mood for this track. Heavy lofi drums, big synth bass is a nod to J Dilla – a hero to both Darien and Tim. The guitar solo is a minimal, pocketed, stream of consciousness — and was tracked in one take.
Maintaining unstoppable momentum, hip hop maverick KILLY unleashes a new single and music video entitled “TRUST NOBODY.”
Get it HERE at all DSPs and watch the official music video HERE.
On the WondaGurl-produce track, KILLY cuts loose over ominously intense production. He tears into bold and braggadocious lines like, “Don’t ask me no questions. I’m thumbing through these hundreds,” before confessing, “I can’t trust nobody.” The flow oscillates between an incisive cadence on the verses and soaring power on the hook. Awash in colorful glitchy filters, the accompanying video intercuts various claustrophobic close-ups of KILLY bathed in hues of light before lasers blast from his sunglasses. It mirrors the unpredictability of the song.
Opening up the floodgates, “TRUST NOBODY” bulldozes the path for a new mixtape, due imminently. He recently set the stage with the incendiary banger “PYRO,” which quickly amassed over 1 million streams and 1 million views on the music video. Additionally, he paired the song with an NFT that unlocked the title and cover art. It only lit the flame though…
Get ready for KILLY to burn brighter than ever in 2021.
A true adherent to the DIY ethos, Owen Duff creates everything related to his music, from artwork to videos, as well as playing or programming nearly all of the instruments on his songs. He began learning piano at the age of four, picking up drums, guitar and a few other instruments along the way, eventually writing songs that blend influences from folk, 60s chamber pop, electronica, film, TV scores and jazz.
His catalogue includes five EPs as well as having recorded an album of twenty songs which, rather than releasing, he hid in secret locations around the world. This was documented in the video for ‘The Race‘, which accompanied the launch of Owen’s fourth EP ‘Realityicide’. He scored the Queerty award-nominated web series Kissing Walls in 2019 and in 2020 began releasing songs from an upcoming album called bed.
His upcoming album bed takes influence from Owen Duff’s past relationship with “someone who was struggling to reconcile a conservative religious upbringing with his sexuality.” He further confides, “at the same time I was asking my own philosophical questions around what it means to be not be heterosexual, especially in relation to deciding not to have children. The album is broadly structured around the story of the relationship between two people from falling in love, to disillusionment and eventual acceptance.” Sonically, the collection of songs feature sweeping folk soundscapes, layered vocals, and thoughtful progressions.
The prolific songwriter has further found success performing at several iconic UK venues including Bush Hall, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and Manchester’s Academy. His work has been praised by Hollywood actor Chloë Grace Moretz and legendary musician, broadcaster and activist Tom Robinson, among others. Owen’s songs have further received airplay on BBC Radio and his music has appeared in the films “Thirteen Downs,” “The Falls,” and its two sequels, which also featured music specially commissioned for the soundtrack.
bed is set for release in fall 2021 worldwide.
Beacon Bloom are an electronic trio from New Zealand. Together, Ryan Ferris, James Allen and Joss Doge have created their own unique, genre-fluid universe. Taking inspiration from the best of European nightlife, the outfit continues to push the boundaries of music and multimedia in both the virtual and physical worlds.
Their latest release “Nothing Here But You” narrates the felt experience of mania, the breakdown of consensus reality and the conviction that you are the only thing in existence. Showcasing some of their most danceable work to date, this is a groove-centred club track framing Beacon Bloom’s trademark vocals, transporting you to the jungles. The expedition begins with the sound of teeming insects and tropical birds high in the canopy, while a lone wind instrument invokes unnameable forces from the undergrowth. Across the track’s seven minutes and twenty seconds, Beacon Bloom pack a huge number of elements into an apparently simple structure: swung, tribal drums playing off against a straight synth line; signature vocals that wave around like cellophane, and an epic arpeggio that wouldn’t be out of place on the first volume of Northern Exposure. The result is transcendent in an oddly specific way, conjuring the breakdown of consensus reality.
The one-take video is a fever dream of vivid colour and fantastical characters, set in a stunning New Zealand backdrop – think Alice in Wonderland meets Steampunk. Those paying close attention to the video may discover an offramp to the Beacon Bloom Metaverse, a space that blends narratives and virtual worlds; cryptocurrency and NFTs; live and virtual shows; and a memeplex of mysteries moving through the virtual world to the physical and back again.
“Nothing Here But You” was premiered in VR at ALTERED STATE – a virtual art event by NFT marketplace Charged Particles. The event featured 10 artists, crypto giveaways and a music performance by live house act IMT. The video allows collectors to gain special access to the Beacon Bloom metaverse or to own a unique piece of Beacon Bloom history. Examples of NFT’s include a complete alternate take of the music video in a different location, limited edition physical merchandise and lifetime access to shows. Buyers can also purchase an NFT that includes the band flying anywhere in the world to play a private show for them. 10% of the initial sale of each NFT will be donated to charities including The Orangutan Foundation and Regenerative Agriculture.
Rather than competing for grandeur, Uone and Jamie Stevens’ remix explores the original’s more sinister elements. Beacon Bloom’s vocals are transformed into a back-alley whisper, and only the shyest harmonic elements escape the remixers’ knife, twisting suspiciously and always just out of focus. Even the sampled birds sound afraid at the bleakness of their new environment. But the result of this ruthless approach is an outstanding groove that pulls you along into the darkness until you lose all track of time. This is the version for fans of Alex Smoke, dissociatives and the glory days of minimalism.
Born in North West London, Treasure’s family relocated to the Countryside in the early 2000’s trading the busy city life for the suburban serenity, a feeling present throughout his catalogue. His laidback production and genre-merging tendencies provide a nostalgia based backdrop for his lush soulful harmonies. Treasure, a.k.a Kelvin Beyioku, wears his emotions on his sleeve. He transverses his musical world with this heightened sense of vulnerability, creating a space where he and the listener can rest at ease with no fear of judgement.
His latest EP PLEBEIAN is an expression of the colour in his mind, with trippy, calming elements dripping in style and originality. Exploring mellow sounds, feelings and moments of candid expression., Treasure confides, “Self- produced over the last two years, these are tracks that haven’t found a place on any pending projects, but I feel like they deserved to see the light of day.”
“Conversations with Friends” was inspired by the book by Sally Rooney. Gentle sunshine acoustic guitar flows through the song in fluid waves against the tides of Treasure’s echoing vocals, which are unmistakably golden and smooth. The track slowly peels off its layers revealing shimmering backing production elements, creating dreamy, delicate aura. Treasure shares, “The intro of the song is about a new-found confidence, in contradiction to the extremely vulnerable lines in “Heal me // Believe.” Sonically opening up your senses to all of the aspects of his music, it feels calm and passionate, oozing in personal conviction. Embracing the fluttering guitar and slowly initiating his experimental side.
“What We Do in the Dark” starts with tropical subtle keys, somewhat minimalistic, with Treasure’s signature production surprises. The track moves into a trap-esque beat – cool and calm Treasure combines rap with his silky vocals. Engineering and producing the entire project himself, Treasure explains, “this project was mostly an exercise in sound design, I wanted to see how far I could push the idea of merging genres and styles into a cohesive project.”
Raw in his approach, his self-produced and bedroom-recorded releases have quickly found themselves featured on many notable blogs and multiple stations on the BBC Radio circuit. He has also received extensive playlisting from the likes of Spotify official playlists, COLORS, Apple Music and Starbucks.
multi-instrumentalist, electronic music producer and composer Perdurabo shares ‘Unleash The Revolution’, the first single taken from ‘The Time Traveller’, the collaborative album created with !K7 artist Davide Tomat, due for release on May 21st – Stream ‘Unleash The Revolution’ here. Pre-save ‘The Time Traveller’ here.
‘The Time Traveller’ is a record born by a collaboration between Perdurabo and Tomat (!K7), nine tracks written in 2014 and rediscovered on a hard drive during last year’s lockdown. The album focuses on the idea of OOBE – out-of-body experience, a phenomenon in which a person perceives the world from a location outside their physical body. The inspiration comes from reworking the same music compositions at different periods in the artist’s life; each track represents a personal journey and singular OOBE. Music becomes the binder, capable of taking us far during a year of loneliness and immobility.
Talking about ‘Unleash The Revolution’, Perdurabo says; “It’s a dynamic, straight, and in some ways unforgettable composition. It always gave me the feeling that something big was coming. During my countless flights between Italy and Berlin, I was often listening to the demos on my headphones, and every time this track started, everything looked bright and powerful – it made me want to unleash a revolution”.
Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez is a singer/composer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born into a family of musicians, music was Raina’s first language and it runs deep within her veins. Rooted in Jazz and R&B, the songwriter invites us into her unique sonic world with harmonic nuance and lyrical poetry.
Raina’s cross-genre style is built from the bottom up. With improvisation as a starting point for her songs, Raina draws on her emotionality and leans into her perception of the world around, uncovering hidden depths within daily life and articulating personal truth with vulnerability and bravery. Songwriting is her way of processing and understanding life in all its complexity.
Her latest single “40 Days” is a subtly complex story about a struggle to let go. Some of that holding is portrayed and experienced as strength, “I won’t let it go, let it strip all my pride”, a stubborn vigilance. Later in the song, that same holding takes form as an unhealthy attachment, “I fought for you when I knew it wasn’t right.” It’s hard to let go and it’s especially hard to let go of people who have hurt you, as backwards as that may seem. At the core of “40 Days” is the desire to let go, to be soft, to live in expansive harmony, and the accompanying choir embodies that desire. Community, shared truth and recognition set us free.
The single is a slow burn. Flickering with a tender tempo, the intro and verses keep us close; their delicate specificity is complimented by the fullness and warmth of the chorus and choir. Keeping intimacy at the center, the simplicity of the song demands a high level of craftsmanship and restraint. “40 Days” is entirely full and romantic in its sonic appeal. Captivating from the start, this New Yorker produces smoky, sensual vocals that glide over the track melting into a surge of passion and honesty.
With over 600k streams on Spotify and a budding global audience, RSG has packed rooms at prestigious venues such as Brooklyn Bowl, SOB’s, Rockwood Music Hall, MoMA PS1 and many others. Opening for artists such as Starchild and the New Romantic, Raina has a deep connection to the New York City music scene.
M.Byrd’s story starts somewhere between Amsterdam and Paris. Whilst being the tour bassist for Ilgen-Nur, M.Byrd showed the rest of the band his own demos and their reaction was what gave him the final push to focus on his solo career. Fast-forward to the end of the tour and just one single-release later the 25-year-old artist now has more than 1.5 million Spotify streams under his belt. M.Byrd swiftly forged his own path in the industry with his infectious indie neo-psych-folk sound.
The upcoming single “Morning Sun” is indeed all about an acoustic soundscape, which, however, conveys no less depth than the powerful guitar sounds of “Mountain”. The warm entry symbolizes the rising of the morning sun and at the same time lets listeners wake up in the fog.
M. Byrd himself describes the process as follows:
“Morning Sun has become a kind of morning mantra for me. The idea came to me a few years ago in the morning right after I got up and it came back to me subsequently over and over again, like a kind of entry into meditation, until I finally recorded it and arranged it into form.”
Marcel Izequierdo Torres, who also directed the first music video of the artist, takes the night as a visual guideline and in an almost mystical atmosphere features the self-confident dancer Rose Marie Lindstrøm with her own choreography. Alternating between floating and rhythmic movements, the young dancer interprets the song as a ritual awakening after an aimless search in the fog, as the desire for the redeeming breath underwater.
M.Byrd’s timeless songs shine with a feeling of strength and self-understanding that can be rarely found at the beginning of a young musicians’ career – they transport the listener to the American west coast, emitting a sense of melancholic future and euphoric youth, urging them to trust their intuition and find their inner-self. “I spent many years soaking up personal and musical experiences and I’ve been learning a lot in different studios and touring situations. The music I make is thus inspired by being on the road, moving on and allowing growth to happen. I realized that the experiences on my path might also inspire other people and I hope that this will continue in the future with the songs we release.”
Epic Records, EPIX, and Swizz Beatz proudly present new music from season 2 of GODFATHER OF HARLEM, starring and executive produced by Forest Whitaker and produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, premiering Sunday, April 18th on EPIX. Once again, GRAMMY® Award-winning iconic producer, rapper, DJ, entrepreneur, and cultural connoisseur Swizz Beatz has returned as Executive Producer of the Official Soundtrack, curating a slate of hard-hitting anthems. The first two songs from the second season—“Prince Hakeem” featuring India Shawn & ADÉ and “Been To War” featuring Swizz Beatz, DMX & French Montana—have arrived today.
Orchestral choir and strings herald “Prince Hakeem” as cymbals simmer beneath a show-stopping and soulful vocal performance by LA based singer/songwriter India Shawn before DMV spitter ADÉ pulls up with knockout bars. Then, there’s “Been To War.” It projects the power of late legend DMX. DMX practically tears right through the beat with his immortal bark as French Montana locks into a smooth signature flow, providing the perfect counterpoint.
Regarding the new music, Swizz commented, “It’s an honor to be back with my GODFATHER OF HARLEM family. As sweet as the return is, the passing of my brother X weighs heavy on everyone. I hope you can feel his hunger and spirit in ‘Been To War’. X couldn’t wait for people to hear this. It’s got that same power that made us all believers. I love you, and this is dedicated to you.”
Expect new music weekly from the forthcoming GODFATHER OF HARLEM Season 2 Soundtrack.

Emerging from sought-after songwriter and in-demand collaborator to one of 2021’s most exciting breaking artists, Annika Wells shares a new single entitled “Love Sucks” today. Get it HERE via Vol. 1 and Epic Records.
Developing a reputation for saying what’s on her mind (and everybody else’s) out loud, she turns up with another confessionally catchy anthem. Guitar creaks underneath a sheen of cinematic production as she manically croons, “I’m sorry for being so forward, but I can’t help it.” Hitting a high register, she launches into breathless vocal delivery on the hook as she proclaims, “Love sucks, but not as much as being this alone.” The track illuminates her uncanny ability to transform raw emotion into quotable bops.
Driven by a competitive hunger, MOE rhymes with verbal athleticism, undeniable charisma, and fierce individuality. Posting up nearly 10 million streams independently, and landing a high-profile placement in NBA2K20, the Orlando rapper brings an unbreakable work ethic and the spirit of competition from the court to the culture on his 2020 debut for Epic Records.
He battle-rapped among friends throughout middle school and high school before four years of college ball as a shooting guard in Virginia. Upon returning home, he turned his attention to music. Inspired by Meek Mill, Drake, J Cole, Andre 3000, JAY-Z, Future, and 21 Savage, he tirelessly practiced his craft on the mic. Simultaneously, he bounced around between jobs as a referee and at The Boys & Girls Club, Sports Authority, and a gym. In 2016, he uploaded his first song “2 Easy” followed by “Money.” During 2018, he hit his stride with the independent No Regrets project. Around the same time, he met GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Ayo [Lil Wayne, Drake, Cardi B] and hit the studio. He unleashed the Rich Dreamin’ EP powered by the single “Outta There.” Over kinetic production from Ayo, he drops highly quotable rhymes before a hard-hitting hook. Tipped to MOE early on, Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon became friends with the rising rapper. Through his friendship with Gordon, Moe connected with the team at 2K, and the track featured in NBA2K20. Within a few months, it generated 4.3 million Spotify streams and 1.4 million YouTube views as he landed a deal with Epic Records. As he prepares more releases, MOE has his sights set on the championship.
genre-blending duo Pink Elefants are releasing their new single “Sound of Violence” & the accompanying music video. PopWrapped exclusively premiered the single & video, complimenting the duo’s “dynamic and out-of-the-box musicality” that shines through on this release.
“Sound of Violence” is an intoxicating lo-fi number that fuses atmospheric hip-hop production with melodic pop hooks. Speaking on the lyrical inspiration for the song, the band writes, “the observer in the song narrates as if they are in some lavish party in the hills. At first the party seems perfect until you look closely and peel back the layers. As the veneer begins to decay we can all start to see the darkness underneath.” While the song was originally written pre-pandemic, many of the lyrical elements also mirror the way in which the past year has exposed many of the corrupt elements of our world and how being a passive bystander is no longer an option— the veneer has been ripped away and we are having to confront the more sinister truths of society.
Pink Elefants is the project of long-time friends Finch (Flores) and Illeven (Joshua Matthew). The Maryland-based duo are experts at defying genre norms, often combining hints of old school hip-hop and Top 40 pop elements with their alternative rock backgrounds. The band name was inspired by the “Pink Elephants on Parade” sequence in Disney’s Dumbo (1941) and much like the transformation of the elephants in that scene, the band’s ethos is to be ever-evolving with their sound and the world around them.
The band made their debut as Pink Elefants in 2019 and have continued to pump out a steady stream of singles since. Pink Elefants’ true passion lies in the creation of the music — “writing together in this group brings back a lot of fun for us,” the duo write. “The limitations are removed and we can just write without worrying too much about all the other hoopla that comes along with being in a musical entity with business-like endeavors. This project is a dream team of passionate and hungry musical virtuosos.” Over this past year, Pink Elefants have launched a nightly Facebook series where they perform a mix of original songs and covers, which has led to a passionate tight-knit fanbase dubbed the ‘Elefam.’

The tinier the pieces, the bigger the puzzle. As if sonically gluing together a mosaic, Nashville-based Glass Dove assembles sweeping alternative pop anthems D.I.Y. from shards of live guitar, MIDI, and synths. Those pieces also mirror two distinct halves of founder Josh Benus’s personality. Combining artistic seriousness with clever intuition, the lifelong musician will dissect a turning point in his life by sharing a granular detail—whether he likens old friends to “a pack of cigarettes we smoked just yesterday” or compares arguments to “long-winded games of chess that you never win.” In 2021, the vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer explores the push-and-pull of personal and universal dichotomies on his independent full-length debut, Half Life Wilderness, produced by Owen Biddle [The Roots, John Legend]. He spent the past three years molding, tinkering, and shaping the music to comprise a whole greater than the sum of its parts, yet reverent of every nuance.
For as otherworldly as the final product feels, it all began in the most organic way possible in the Smoky Mountains during a week of writing and recording…
“It started with me and Owen in a room with a laptop, a microphone, a MIDI controller, and a pocket synth,” recalls Josh. “It completely blossomed from there into something meaningful for me. The sound is meant to be much bigger than that. I try to approach it from a holistic standpoint and ask questions like, ‘Is this cathartic for me? Is it universal? Will it be cathartic for somebody else? How does it relate to what’s going on in the world?’ There’s a very serious side of the refinement process. I’m always dedicating myself to the craft of songwriting, getting better, and learning from the past in order to do something new.”
For as much as his past impacted the process, it really marked the start of a new chapter for Josh as Glass Dove. With Owen, he built a sound that’s as intimate as it is infectious, integrating this mélange of detuned acoustic guitars, vintage synths, and off-kilter beats. In essence, it sounds like starting over—but for the first time…
“Half-Life Wilderness is expansive,” he goes on. “I’ve always loved periods of time where art highlighted what was going on in that era—whether it’s in society or in the artist’s life. With music, you juxtapose colors. I love sad songs that sound happy. I detuned an acoustic guitar to C-standard and wrote on that for some songs. The rest was written on old synths. There was something different about it.”
Pop punk singer-songwriter and actress, Maddie Glass, is hitting the ground running with her debut single, “Livin in 2021” off of her upcoming EP, Thank You For Breaking My Heart. Born and raised in and around New York City, Maddie grew up acting and performing all around Manhattan in various Off Broadway productions where she found her love for the craft at a young age and never looked back. Attending NYU Tisch, Maddie Glass soon began songwriting; crafting witty, candid and relatable lyrics over a 2000’s throwback sound.
Her leading single “Livin in 2021” is a poignant tale of the struggles Maddie Glass has faced in her young adult life. She confides, “Livin In 2021” is a very vulnerable song for me to release because I discuss my personal struggles with anxiety, body image, eating disorders, which many people deal with in some way”. The song also details how unfortunate it is that women particularly often feel unsafe walking home late at night by themselves, which Maddie Glass has herself also experienced. Through unapologetic vocals, jagged pop-punk rhythms and gritty guitars, Maddie Glass successfully takes listeners on an enthralling musical rollercoaster.
On “Space Boyfriend” Maddie Glass discusses the perils of casual dating and her ultimate desires to find the one. The single features tongue and cheek lyrics and soaring melodies over Maddie Glass’s signature pop rock soundscapes.
Thank you for Breaking my Heart is a standout collection of coming of age songs. Maddie Glass is the new kid on the block who is here to stay.

On the release of her irresistible debut single, she says, “it feels so surreal to have my debut single out! “For Me,” gives a sweet intro to all the surprises I have in the works. The most exciting part of this is having the opportunity to share my story and sound.”
