Kristen Stewart Joins The Cast Of HBO’s ‘Irma Vep’ Miniseries

Kristen Stewart and director Olivier Assayas are reteaming for a Irma Vep mini series for HBO. The two have previously worked together on ‘Personal Shopper’ and ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’. Stewart has a “small role” in the series, according to New Yorker. The A24 production is currently shooting in Paris, the magazine also reveals. Nothing is known about the role at current. The Irma Vep miniseries is being written and directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Olivier Assayas and will star Alicia Vikander, Adria Arjona, Carrie Brownstein, Jerrod Carmichael, Fala Chen, Devon Ross, Byron Bowers, and Tom Sturridge.

Set against the backdrop of a lurid crime thriller, it will center around an American movie star named Mira as she struggles as the distinctions between herself and the character she plays begin to blur and merge. Vikander will be taking on the role Mira, a movie star who is disillusioned by her career and a recent breakup, who moves to France to star as Irma Vep in a remake of the French silent film classic, Les Vampires.
