With it looking like we might not be getting our Exorcist fix for a while, developers Fernando Tittz and Ahldain Michael have one solution with the announcement that their game Devil Inside Us: Roots of Evil will be getting a console release next week. Previously released to Steam (with a demo in case you’re curious), Devil Inside Us: Roots of Evil will arrive for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on January 25.
Roots of Evil is a first-person narrative title in which you take on the role of a 74-year-old exorcist named Aughust Heylel. A priest gifted with mediumistic abilities and an exorcist acclaimed by the Vatican, Heylel is thrust into a predicament when he recounts, in a letter, the most terrifying mission of his long life: the “Roots of Evil” case, which began in 1984.
Initially assigned to investigate a residence plagued by paranormal manifestations, Heylel soon realized that the problem was infinitely deeper than his initial predictions could grasp. The case has haunted him for more than 30 years, and now the crucial moment has come to solve it.
Your objective is to explore the house and find various items, notes and cursed objects in order to solve the case. Given that Heylel is 74 years old, his movement is limited, adding a bit of complication to your strategies when exorcizing objects.
