‘System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition’ Gets Updated Name, Release Date at GDC

After announcing last year that their Doom II mod would be turned into a full game, Trigger Happy Interactive has announced that Total Chaos will be unleashing a demo for Steam Next Fest on February 24.

A “brutal Survival Horror experience,” Total Chaos sees players assume the role of a Coast Guardsman washed up on the shores of Fort Oasis, a long-abandoned mining colony consumed by decay and an eerie, inescapable presence. A lone voice crackles through a walkie-talkie, beckoning him deeper into the island’s rotting ruins. But as hallucinations grow stronger and reality bends, the question lingers… is something watching, or is the horror all in his mind?

In typical Survival Horror fashion, players will monitor their vitals, fight off hunger, and tend to bleeding wounds. But survival in Total Chaos isn’t just physical — their mind may betray them before the island does.

In addition, you’ll need to scavenge to survive. That means searching the ruins for scrap and supplies to craft makeshift weapons. Axes, hammers, and whatever else can be scavenged are the only defensive options. Firearms are rare, and every bullet is precious.

Be aware, as when your madness takes hold, the world itself begins to change. Hidden passageways emerge, walls shift, and the line between hallucination and reality begins to blur.

No release date has been announced as of yet for Total Chaos, but the game is expected later this year.
