‘Gremlins’ Stripe Figure from Madballs Designer James Groman Comes with Plush Gizmo

CultureFly is celebrating Gremlins‘ 40th anniversary with a figure created by original Madballs designer James Groman.

Standing 12″ tall, the stylized soft vinyl Stripe toy holds a smaller Gizmo plush as well as a dart accessory.

Groman’s detailed sculpt showcases the menacing monster’s razor-sharp claws, devilish grin, and signature white mohawk.

The piece is limited to 1,000 worldwide and comes in premium, themed packaging.

Pre-orders launched a New York Comic Con last October, but the remaining inventory is in stock and shipping now for $220.

Groman worked for American Greetings in the ’80s, where he helped develop brands like Madballs, My Pet Monster, Care Bears, Popples, and Ring Raiders.

He went on to establish his own freelance studio, providing design, sculpting, and prototyping for such properties as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Godzilla, Universal Monsters, G.I. Joe, and various Marvel and DC comics.

A third Gremlins movie is reportedly in development at Warner Bros. from original writer Chris Columbus.
