Patricia Soledad is a Filipina powerhouse of musical theater — a singer, actress, and dancer carving her path in New York City. Born in Cebu and raised in Davao by her mother and grandparents, Patricia grew up with the stage calling her name. By 14 she was training her voice, by 15 she was mastering hip hop, jazz, tap, and ballet. The arts were her heartbeat, but life took her on a detour.
In 2019, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, teaching Social Studies and English for three years. Yet when the pandemic hit, the silence of the stage became deafening. Patricia reignited her passion through online workshops with the Philippine Educational Theater Association and Repertory Philippines, and in that moment, she chose courage over comfort. She left teaching behind and leapt into the unknown — chasing theater in New York.
Her journey led her to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), where she immersed herself in the Musical Theater Conservatory program. Two years of relentless training sharpened her craft and prepared her for the spotlight.
Fresh out of graduation, Patricia made her debut at Green Room 42 in The Thesis Statement, followed by a performance in Goddess Night with Chasing Dreams Cabaret. She was handpicked for the Karla Puno Garcia Performance Intensive, training under the Emmy-winning choreographer whose credits include Hamilton, Days of Wine and Roses, and Romy and Michele. Patricia then joined the original cast of ROWAN, an off-Broadway play that premiered to sold-out audiences at THE FRIGID NYC.
Beyond performing, Patricia gives back as an artist-teacher, sharing ballet and musical theater with New York City public school students. Her story is proof that it’s never too late to start over, and that chasing your dreams is always worth the risk.
Her mantra? “Always bet on yourself. It can be scary, but it is always worth it.”
