Niall Horan Says There Are Plans to Bring His Dinner Party Tour to the U.S.

Niall Horan stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to discuss his new album, Dinner Party. The former One Direction member talked about writing a song about meeting his girlfriend at an actual dinner party and whether he plans to bring his upcoming tour to the U.S.

Currently, Horan has announced tour dates in Ireland, Europe, and the U.K., which kick off in September. “We’re still to announce more dates,” Horan said. “But you know what usually comes next.”

“Will you come to North America, or you don’t know yet?” Jimmy Kimmel asked. Horan replied, “It’s not announced, but yeah.”

Dinner Party, Horan’s first album in three years, is set for release on June 5. He has so far shared “Dinner Party,” an intimate, acoustic number that recounts a meeting at a dinner party that sparks a once-in-a-lifetime feeling of connection. That meeting was with his now-girlfriend.

“You don’t see those things as big deals, and six years later you look back and you’re like, ‘That worked,’” Horan told Kimmel of the encounter. He added that he was a single bachelor living in London at the time so it was “more of a drinks party.”

Later on the show, Kimmel reunited Horan with the so-called 1D Potato, a potato that the late-night host gifted to One Direction in 2015 when they appeared on Kimmel.

“We were talking about that world you were in where anything you guys posted became this huge, huge, huge thing,” Kimmel recalled. He added, “What I was hoping is that you guys would post the potato and you did indeed do that and the potato became — it had its own Instagram page.” Kimmel then inquired, “Where is the potato now?”

“It started to sprout, and we thought that was the end of its life,” Horan replied. “I haven’t seen it since.”

Horan also joined a fan to see whether he knows more about himself than she does. Spoiler: the fan won.
