In 2000, New England Filmmaker, Geno McGahee, made his first feature film and it was named “EVIL AWAKENING.” It would make it to DVD in 2008 and would find success on Netflix and the newly founded streaming service that Netflix started. A classic micro-budget film that found its way into the video stores and store shelves but as the market changed, the film would disappear forever, or so it was thought.
In 2025, all these years later, it resurfaces on YouTube, for free, and it’s become a piece of lost media that has been long requested and has now met the demand. McGahee has noted that “it was my first film and it’s chaos, but I’m very happy that it’s been released into the wild again.”
Synopsis: “The town of Ludlow is cursed. A crazed farmer was killed and is back for revenge and no campers or partiers are safe from the edge of his axe.”
EVIL AWAKENING is now released by CINEMA EPOCH and is the first film from New England filmmaker Geno McGahee, the man behind RISE OF THE SCARECROWS, FATAL JUSTICE, SCARY TALES: DARK WALKER and many more. He has recently announced the production of DARK PLACES filming this year and the completion of LOVE SPELL, a rom-com that he directed and is slated for release later in the year.
