Lady A‘s Hillary Scott and husband Chris Tyrrell are celebrating nine years as a married couple on Jan. 7, 2021 — and so far, it’s been quite the adventure. The two met while on a Tim McGraw tour in 2010, and a proposal soon followed.
“Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed,” Scott recalls. “Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and — in our workout clothes — he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!”
Scott and Tyrrell were married in front of family and close friends just before sunset on Jan. 7, 2012. Their love is the kind that inspires; in fact, Lady A’s “Just a Kiss” came out of Scott and Tyrrell’s love for each other.
“Everything is brighter. Everything has a deeper meaning,” Scott says of her husband. “I’ve found a guy who truly embraces me for who I am and appreciates the things that I don’t necessarily love about myself.”
Scott also says that she knew her husband was “the one” when she met his family. His camaraderie with his 10-years-younger brother showed her that Tyrrell would be a fantastic dad. The couple welcomed their first child, Eisele Kaye Tyrrell, on July 22, 2013; after a miscarriage in 2015, their family grew by two — twin girls Betsy and Emory – in January of 2018.
