allie – the creative moniker of Nashville-based singer-songwriter Allie Cuva – has shared a new song called ‘quinn’. It’s the latest preview from their forthcoming debut album Maybe Next Time, following previous entries ‘ETYG’ and ‘listless’, the latter of which landed on our Best New Songs segment. Give ‘quinn’ a listen below.
“quinn is the name of the daughter i used to dream of raising with my then-partner, well before i realized just how much of a journey i’d eventually have to go through to start truly knowing and loving myself,” allie explained in a statement. “as my six-year relationship with my best friend came to an end last year, i felt sick in a fever of despair, fear, mid-pandemic isolation, and intense discomfort in my own body. one of the only things i could bring myself to do was to write this record, including this song. i felt compelled to make something with the same hands that i felt like i’d just seen everything slip from.”
Maybe Next Time is due for release on August 27 via Other People Records. It follows allie’s debut EP, 2020’s Junior Coder’s Experiment.
