The first official trailer for The Northman, the new film from The Witch and The Lighthouse director Robert Eggers, has arrived. Björk, Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, and Ethan Hawke star in the film, which is billed as “action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder.” Check out the trailer below.
Set in 10th century Iceland, The Northman is set for release on Friday, April 8, 2022. Eggers co-wrote the screenplay with the Icelandic poet and longtime Björk collaborator Sjón. The film marks Björk’s first on-screen appearance since 2000’s Dancer in the Dark.
