Watch Metallica Perform ‘Enter Sandman’ on ‘Colbert’

Metallica were the musical guests on last night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. For the late night host’s Super Bowl 2021 special, the heavy metal icons played their 1991 classic ‘Enter Sandman’. Watch their performance, featuring a collection of the band’s speaker cabinets from throughout their career, below.

Back in November, drummer Lars Ulrich revealed that the band were a month into some “pretty serious writing” for their new album. Last month, he said in an interview that they’ve only made “glacial” progress on the record.

The Weeknd headlined yesterday’s Super Bowl halftime show, while Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church teamed up for a collaborative rendition of the National Anthem and H.E.R. delivered a performance of ‘America the Beautiful’.
