Storyline Details Revealed for Showtime’s “Dexter” Revival; Marcos Siega on Board to Direct

It was announced on the road to Halloween that Michael C. Hall will be reprising the role of “Dexter” for an upcoming limited series revival, set to be a 10-episode continuation of the series that’ll allow the show’s creators to essentially make up for the series finale that disappointed many viewers seven years ago. And we’ve got some plot details today.

For starters, THR reports this week that Marcos Siega will be directing six episodes of the ten-episode “Dexter” revival. Siega has directed nine previous episodes of the show.

Siega will also be executive producing the revival season.

Additionally, THR shares the following plot details….

“Set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival sees the character now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami.”

Clyde Phillips is back as showrunner for the revival, likely arriving in Fall 2021.

Phillips recently told THR, “So far as the ending of the show, this will have no resemblance to how the original finale was. It’s a great opportunity to write a second finale.”

“Dexter” ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013.
